Clinically reviewed guide
When should I book travel vaccinations?
Book as early as practical, because the right timing depends on your destination, health, vaccine history and how soon you travel.
Some protection takes time
Certain vaccines require more than one dose, and protection may not develop immediately. An early appointment gives more time to review your records, complete a recommended course and discuss malaria prevention or other travel precautions.
Your itinerary changes the advice
Country alone is not enough. Recommendations can differ according to regions visited, trip length, season, accommodation, activities and access to medical care. Bring your full itinerary and departure date to the consultation.
Last-minute travellers should still ask
Do not assume it is too late. A pharmacist can explain which options may still be useful, what cannot be completed before departure and the practical steps that can reduce risk during your trip.
Bring any vaccination records you have, your regular medicines, relevant medical conditions and allergies. Sweenys Health does not currently provide Yellow Fever vaccination.
Travel health includes more than vaccines
Your assessment may also cover malaria prevention, food and water safety, insect-bite avoidance and other precautions relevant to your plans. Any recommendation is made after an individual assessment.
